“The Story of Kip Tik”
Client: AmEx Departures
Agency: T Brand Studio
Creative + Production: Timber + Frame

In rural Chiapas, Mexico a group of indigenous women banded together to keep their traditions alive, cut out the middle men and deliver their handmade traditional textiles to the world.
AmEx sent us down to capture their story of resilience and entrepreneurship for Departures Magazine.
Working in close collaboration with the subjects of the film we created a final piece that honored the people and the process while firmly placing their story where it should be, in their own hands.

It was an honor to help play a small role in helping their cause.
If you are interested to learn more, Kip Tik works in collaboration with more than 400 artisans from different communities in the Altos y Selva area of Chiapas. Together they join forces to publicize their work in artisan design in Mexico and around the world, as well as to grow through fair trade.
